Public And Private Secondary Schools; What To Know And What To Take Note.
It is said that to everything in life, there are advantages and disadvantages.
This statement cannot be overemphasized. In fact let me say this statement is underrated.
Back then, attending a private secondary school was one of the major determinant of your parent's social status. Until you graduate and find a public school lever, who speaks better and fluent English compared to you or you write the joint admission and matriculation board exam(JAMB) twice or three times and find out that most of your friends who attended public school got admission before you. You won't be amazed until you even get the admission and notice that a larger percentage of your course mate graduated from government secondary school.
In our present era, religion and politics are two major drive to our affairs both in the community level and country level at large.
Vast majority of our political leaders both present and past were schooled by the government yet they were able to attain the height of their careers.
Let's go into the religion section. In a thousand congregation, don't be surprised that over eight hundred members were able to get educated because government made education affordable for them.
My argument isn't that private schools should not be patronized, but trying to enlighten you and also change the notion that your children have to attend private schools before achieving academic excellence.
Don't misquote me also. A larger percentage of children who attended public schools without proper monitoring by caregivers end up having their future savaged.
So whether you choose private or public schools for your children, proper monitoring and follow up is strictly advised.
Don't put unnecessary pressure on yourself competing with your friends to enrol your wards into private schools with exorbitant fees.
Play according to your pocket, then spend quality time with your children to complement for any likely inadequacies.
Have a lovely day ahead
